Luckless: Went to check on cache for yearly maintenance. There were signs posted everywhere saying that the camp is restricted to students, alumni, faculty and staff so archiving this. The college has been increasing its security.

Geocache Description:

This cache has two stages. The coordinates posted above will take you to a clue that you have to figure out in order to find the cache. (decipher hints included.)

The cache is a camoflaged plastic container with a screw on lid. Please rehide the cache so it cannot be easily detected by muggles.

Please limit your hunting to daylight hours.

To begin your hike, park at N42 26.950 W074 55.776 and follow the roadway down to the lake.

Pine Lake is owned by Hartwick College and used for environmental and sustainablity studies.
The caches are located just off the trails. To avoid interfering with ongoing studies PLEASE STAY ON THE TRAILS.

****AREAS BEYOND CACHE ARE OFF LIMITS****

DO NOT enter those areas posted with no trespassing signs including those areas that are marked off with heavy guage wire. DO NOT disturb any of the residences here.

Those hunting this cache should have some knowledge about wilderness hiking in all weather and following trail blazes.
Geocachers should beware of any dead trees leaning over the trails. Be careful to avoid these widow makers.

****There are steep cliffs alongside trails. Use caution when hiking near cliffs.****

This cache is not recommended for children.
I found snowshoes to be helpful hiking in the snow.

We thank the management for letting us hunt for this cache on their property.Once operated as a summer retreat for city vacationers the pristine natural beauty of the area has been retained.
Membership is required for anyone who wishes to spend more time at the lake. Please be respectful of the property.
