In Honor of the newly formed WSGA–North Olympic Peninsula Chapter – this is #11 of a FTFChallenge....


We stumbled across this spot and I was reminded of the 1979 movie "Breaking Away". After you find the cache, walk another fifteen feet down the trail and take a look. A fairly easy hide for all, with a prize for the FTF, keep the series going!!! ..

In the movie "Breaking Away" (starring Dennis Quaid) a group of teens ponders life before and after graduation. One of the teens dreams of winning a bicycle race, and eventually does, while trying to speak and act like an Italian cyclist. His father, currently a used car salesman, adds alot of comedy.

The town locals are called "cutters" due to their employment at a rock quarry (cutting large rocks from the earth) which supports the towns economy. In the movie the teens are seen swimming at an abandoned quarry, the view here reminded me of these scenes..

Written by Steve Tesich, directed by Peter Yates, and released the 20th of July 1979, I enjoyed this film many times as a teenage boy who loved his bicycle. .

It is truly amazing how much material man can move given enough time...I never even knew this was here..

Parking is available really close to the cache, use the large shoulder..

There is a trail so bushwacking is not required to get to the cache...but a reach may be necessary. Please do not venture into the quarry as it is private property, but you can LOOK! .

Please replace and rehide, but keep it easy to find..

Coins and Bugs welcome, and should move along as this is on a well used route. . . . .
