Geocache Description:

Well folks, here is another easy one. To break the monotony of the drive on Highway 97, I slipped this one in. Not all that hard. Easy in fact. Most of the year. I let the Mag 315 sit here and average for fifteen minutes, so it should be close. I rated this one a 1.5 / 1.5 for most of the year yet not all the time. Depends on whom is home, or not. As of 04-18-06. I have replaced this cache container, a small ammo can, due to losing the other cache with a new fence having been built.

Ignore the letterbox in route to the cache, it is not our cache.

Bring a camera for this one. Also a good place to have lunch.

This one will start at a wide spot in the road where on a clear day you will get a good view of the Cascade Range from Mt. Adams - or further - in Washington, South to Mt. Scott - Crater Lake.

If your here at the right time, one grand view of a sunset. Watch the weather and if you get the chance, take the time to wait for the sunset.

While waiting, watch the surrounding grasslands for some Pronghorn or Mule Deer or even the stray Elk or two dozen. You might even see the Roadrunners playmate once and a while.

Anyway, back to the cache. This is an offset style seeing as there are not a lot of hiding spots around. The tallest thing for a long way will be you or your rig. Makes for an interesting place to be in an lightning storm. There should not be any interference from foliage or rock overhangs or canyon walls, etc, etc.

To find this cache, you will need to stand on Mt. Hood. A tall order I know but you will be able to from here. You will need to travel 325 feet at 289 degrees magnetic along the cobblestone trail. IF you know how to project a waypoint, this one is very easy.

Be on the lookout for Mr/Mrs/Ms. Buzztail and Mr/Mrs/Ms B. Widow while doing this cache.

If you happen across either one of these, it might get your heart rate up just a little.
