Mocha! and I took a walk around the lake. Open any time if walking over from the campground but only open on weekends if coming from the boat launch. There are other trailheads, like from El Monte and Blossom Valley.
We hiked in on a Monday and encountered no problems. However, hiking discretion is
advised... The trails here lead down to the shore - be on the
lookout for fisherman heading down or up.
