A simple cache and dash if you leave the A9 to pass through the town of Newtonmore.
West Bromwich Mountaineering Club have been holding a Scottish Winter Week at Newtonmore every February half term for the last 20 years or so. This year 62 members participated for at least part of the week, which was organised by Jonathan Howells. Initially at The Mains Hotel (now an old folks home), they then moved to The Lodge Hotel and the current venue is The Highlander.
Although lots of people say they feel uneasy looking for the cache at the side of the dining room of a hotel in full view of guests, as far as I know nobody has ever been acosted or asked what they were doing - so I wouldn't worry too much about it, especially at dawn or dusk.
The cache is a 'clip&lock' box containing a log book and pencil which has room for geocoins or other small 'goodies'.
