Container is approximately 2 liters, so it should hold some good
sized trade items, and hopefully travel bugs in its future. It
started off with a dog-related theme.
The cache is placed near one of the trails at Grant County Park,
on Mount Hamilton. We highly recommend driving up Mt. Hamilton Road
to visit Lick Observatory, or exploring further the 52 miles of
trails the park boasts.
We spent our day celebrating Valentine's Day enjoying Mount
Hamilton. Our original plan had been for a long hike, but we got
distracted by the fascinating Lick Observatory. By the time we were
heading back down the hill, the sun was getting closer to sunset
than planned.
We got in a short hike, and were totally enchanted by the sounds
of nature as night fell. The frogs' song in particular was
especially magical. Hopefully others can enjoy their music as
well.
Parking can be found close by, using
Grant Lake Trailhead (GCM745) as a guide. This could be a nice
way to stretch your legs a bit, or be a find along your way to a
longer hike along the trails.
Bonus points for including a (short) story about a place you've
enjoyed with your Valentine(s), or posting a picture of you
together.
