Geocache Description:

PLEASE USE INITIALS ONLY.

One of the notable residents of Beavercreek, Oregon was Dave Ulmer, a 63-year-old retired computer engineer and geocaching pioneer. His original stash, located at N 45° 17.460 W 122° 24.800, was a black plastic five-gallon bucket buried most of the way in the ground. He placed the cache at that location as it had "easy simple access with parking area." The cache contained Delorme Topo USA, VHS tape, cassette recorder, 4 dollar bills, can of blackeyed peas, Log Book, etc. The coordinates were then posted on the Internet and Geocaching was born.

Although that original five-gallon bucket was severely damaged by an Oregon Road Crew mower and is no longer around, TEAM 360 and many other concerned geocachers recognized the importance of that event and dedicated the ORIGINAL STASH TRIBUTE PLAQUE on behalf of cachers everywhere.

The first Log Book was damaged and Dave didn't keep it. At the time, he had no idea of its importance as a historical document.
