Georgetown Confederate Monument
Location
Although Delaware never left the Union during the War Between the States (1861-1865), many soldiers and citizens of the state of Delaware fought for the Confederate States of America.
There are several monuments honoring Delawareans who joined the Federal armies. Prior to 2007 there was no known monument honoring Delawareans who fought for the Confederacy. On May 12, 2007 the “Delaware Grays” SCV Camp #2068 unveiled the state’s first-ever historical monument honoring Delaware’s citizens and soldiers who enlisted in and supported our Southern armies during the “War Between the States”.
