Small yellow pill bottle hidden in a pretty obvious location, but out of sight. If you are questioned by American Legion members you should explain geocaching to them and show them the cache. Also explain that permission was given for placing the cache by the Adjutant Bobby Digby. This was the first of the Hot Springs Fraternal and Service organization series.
The American Legion was chartered by the US Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization. Focusing on service to veterans, service members and to local communities, the Legion currently has about 2.6 million members in 14,000 posts worldwide. These posts are organized into 55 departments: one each for the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, France, Mexico and the Philippines. Specific program areas include Family Support Network, National Emergency Fund, scholarships, troop support, veterans benefits, Department Service Officers, Veterans Career Center, VA Volunteer Services, Temporary Financial Assistance, National Security, the GI Bill, and youth activities. Youth activities include Boy Scout programs, American Legion Baseball, Boys State and Nation, and others.
The Hot Springs post was chartered in 1919 as Post 13 of the Arkansas Department.
Membership is open to all veterans who have served at least one active duty day during "wartime," and is currently on active duty or was honorably discharged.
