The WPA ( Works Progress Administration), part of the "New Deal
Program" was responsible for creating Haskell Lake during the
1930's, laying out trails and building stone picnic tables around
the lake. For years, the lake has been a favorite gathering place for
townsfolk and the fishing is good too. In summer months the lake is
covered with lillypads that are extra showy when in bloom. A
leisurely hike around the lake trail will take about 45 minutes and
there's lots of wildlife, deer, beaver and raccoons, but beware,
you can't rule out an occasional snake or bug!
This cache was placed with the permission of the Haskell City
Council.
