A straightforward multi-cache that takes you along part of the Wild Cat Trail to the north of the listing co-ords. Hopefully you'll have seen a "wild cat" on the way to the cache but probably not! More likely a lot of dog walkers.
Since placing the cache Newtomore has gone Wildcat crazy and over 50 fibreglass wlidcats in a variety of colours have sprung up all over the village and a few on the Trail itself. At the Office you can get a certificate (or a prize even) if you can spot over 25 different ones so I think it should become a requirement that everybody who finds the Multicache should only be entitled to a
if they also upload a photo of one of these colourful critters
There has also been some erosion on the route to the cache and apparently there are warning about the path but Alma Aurea states "despite all the 'warning signs', we had no difficulty accessing it!"
The listing co-ordinates take you to the main road close to the Highland Life Museum, Newtonmore, where there used to be a boulder with several plaques on it. One gave details about the fine piece of rock & where it came from and the other showed a map that gave details of The Wildcat Trail. The original questions related to these plaques (eg the boulder was found during the construction of the A 86 trunk road before being moved to this spot), However, the map and plaques seem to have been removed during 2023, possibly connected with the path erosion
So I have come up with some new questions that people can answer in order to find the geocache.
To do this people must either pay to visit the Highland Life Museum or do some virtual research about the place on their website.
