Geocache Description:

Woodgreen Common is a delightful area grazed by ponies and cattle In the middle is the cricket ground where the game has ben played for more than a century. The Forest Inclosures are fenced to keep the ponies and cattle out but deer and other wildlife will often be seen. Many fine oak trees thrive in this part of the Forest. They are generally tall and straight and many of considerable age. Oak from the New Forest was used historically for building fine ships for the Navy and Commerce. The Inclosures are managed by the Forestry Commission and the New Forest National Park. Whilst in the Woodgreen area take the opportunity to explore the village. St. Boniface Church, The Village Hall with it's prized murals painted in the 1930s, The Horse and Groom, and the Village shop are all close to the handkerchief size village green. The shop is now owned and run by the village. This is the fith of 10 caches placed in the loop of Godshill inclosure. we have now changed the "godshill holly loop" to "godshill inclosure" due to adopting "woodgreen common" and extending our loop to incorperate this cache. the loop is mainly on main paths but does go onto 2 boggy paths, cache 5 (the adopted cache) is on a boggy path and between 7 and 8 can be boggy at times. The walk will take around 2 hours and is about 3.5 miles.Been placed in accordance with GAGB New Forest NO NIGHT CACHING PLEASE
