I adopted this cache due to poor maintenance and general complaints from scout leaders.
About the Campsite
Rough Close is a 43-acre campsite and activity centre located 4.5 miles from Coventry City centre on the Western outskirts of the City. Access is via a gated private drive from the B4101, Tanners Lane, Berkswell.
The site has been the property of Coventry Scout County since 1946 although it was sold in the early 90's to the coalboard. Luckily for Coventry Scouts we brought it back and it has been significantly developed since. There is approximately 32 acres of semi natural woodlands and 8 acres of camping fields, and enough midges to make the population suffer.
In recent years the campsite has developed to offer activities to young people both in and out of scouting.
This Cache is located by the drive way which leads up to Rough Close just by Tanners Lane and is not on the Campsite itself this cache can be found on a public footpath. PLEASE DO NOT PARK JUST IN THE DRIVE WAY USE THE LAYBY 100 METRES UP THE DRIVE as this is a shared driveway
This is a normal Cache with a log book, pen and badge enjoy and enjoy Scouting
