Geocache Description:

Big Springs is a natural spring that has been providing quality drinking water for several generations of Overton and Pickett Co. locals. Stop by to refill your water bottle and log this cache while you're at it.

In fact, this cache was placed in memory of a true local and friend, "Wild Bill", who drove me here and showed me this spot for the first time. Well acquainted with the local moonshine industry, Wild Bill probably knew of every spring and working still in the surrounding counties! He also knew of several good bluffs in the area where you could hide from the law for a few days if necessary.

This spring is easy to get to, not far off Hwy 111. Be careful parking and getting out, as its location is just off a country road on a curve. You might even consider parking at the "watering hole" across the street. You can't miss the spring- the cache might be a little trickier! Finding the cache will require climbing up the side of the spring so be careful with slippery surfaces.

It contains a log only. BYOP and as always, replace as found.

CONGRATULATIONS TO DR DAN2 FOR FTF#175!
