MARSLEV:
Imponerende ser den ud, som den ligger dér - i midten af ingenting
mellem Marslev og Fraugde Kærby.
Og det er den da også, hvis man vel at mærke har en svaghed for
arkitektonisk skønhed og godt gammelt håndværk. Vi er i
Marslev.
Eller Marslev Stationsby om man vil.
Her ligger den gamle stationsbygning øde hen. Og her ligger
historien om et Danmark, der for længst er væk. Historien om
dengang, da jernbanen bandt landet sammen.
I dag har stationen for længst udspillet sin rolle, og tilbage i
2005 søgte DSB om tilladelse til at rive bygningerne ned - i første
omgang pakhuset øst for selve stationen. Men et fremsynet Langeskov
Byråd nedlagde et midlertidigt forbud, og nu behandles sagen af
Kerteminde Kommune.
Bevarende lokalplan
Her arbejder miljø- og teknikforvaltningen på at lave en
bevarende lokalplan for området omkring Marslev Station.
- Stationsbygningen er helt speciel - netop fordi den ligger
frit. Men arkitekturen er efter vores mening også
bevaringsværdig
Stationen, som den ser ud i dag, blev bygget i 1910. Den er tegnet
Heinrich Wenck, der fra 1891 til 1921 var overarkitekt ved
Statsbanerne.
På det tidspunkt ekspanderede jernbanen voldsomt i hele landet, og
Wenck kom til at tegne hovedparten af de mange stationsbygninger og
andre jernbanebygninger, der blev opført i denne periode.
Heriblandt Københavns Hovedbanegård, det meste af Kystbanen samt
Odenses anden banegård, der i dag er revet ned. Men også anlægget i
Gedser, som de fleste danskere kender fra tv-serien Matador, var på
tegnebrættet hos Heinrich Wenck - og så selvfølgelig stationen i
Marslev.
Her standsede det sidste passagertog officielt den 21. maj 1977,
men enkelte tog gjorde nu og da holdt frem til 1979.
Tjørne og knæhøjt græs
Siden er tiden stået stille - eller næsten stille. For hvor der
før var perron, er der ikke meget at se.
De rejsende, deres tasker, kister, kufferter og personlige
ejendele - stykgods, pakker og anden postbefordring, er afløst af
halvanden meter høje tjørne, brombær, og knæhøjt græs.
En svag forhøjning med en kant af cement afslører, hvor
tidligere tiders tog med deres trinbrætter mødtes med mulden i
Marslev. Og muld er der nok af, for den by, som man forventede
ville skyde op omkring stationen, kom aldrig. Det gjorde den til
gengæld fem kilometer længere mod øst - nemlig i Langeskov.

Here lies the old station
building deserted. And here lies the story of
a Denmark, who have long since gone. The story of the days when
the railroad tied the country together.
Today the station has long
since run its course, and back in 2005 sought the DSB for
authorization to tear the buildings down - first warehouse east of
the station. But a visionary Langeskov
The City Council imposed the temporary ban, and now treated the
matter of Kerteminde Municipality.

- Station
building is unique - just because it's free.
But the
architecture is in our view also worth preserving
Station, as it
looks today was built in 1910. It was designed
Heinrich Wenck, who from 1891 to 1921 was the architect of national
railways.
At that time,
the railroad expanded dramatically throughout the country, and
Wenck came to sign the majority of the many station buildings and
other railway buildings that were built during this period.
Among the
Copenhagen Central Station, most of the Coast Line and Odense's
second station, which is now demolished. But also the
installation of Gedser, which most Danes know from the television
series Matador was on the drawing board with Heinrich Wenck - and
of course the station Marslev.
Here stopped the
last passenger train officially on 21 May 1977, but
some trains were now and then held up to 1979.
Thorns and grass

Since the time has stood
still - or nearly stationary. For where before
there was the platform, there is not much to see.
The travelers
and their bags, trunks, suitcases and personal belongings - general
cargo, parcels and other postal service is replaced by a half meter
tall hawthorn, blackberries, and knæhøjt grass.
A weak ridge
with a border of cement reveals how past train with their running
boards met with Mulder Marslev. And mold is enough of the
city, which was expected would shoot up around the station, never
came. It did turn five kilometers
further east - namely Langeskov.
