Geocache Description:

Stanstead St Margarets Church of St Andrews is located along Cappell Lane. It is part of the benefice of Great Amwell, St Margarets and Stanstead Abbotts. All of the four churches in the benefice are Grade II listed.

The Church of St John the Baptist is a pleasant church located above the New River constructed by Hugh Myddleton and the pool designed by Milne. It dates from around the twelfth century and was probably visited by the poet John Scott. The church is linked to the nearby primary school. The graveyard contains a wooden stock and at time of placing the cache, was covered in Snowdrops.

The church is open on Sundays seasonally for teas. There is pub opposite the church called George IV with tables outside. They don't however accept muddy boots. A short distance away is the Van Hage's Garden Centre with a cafe, minature railway and animal corner.

Cache is a small black food tub.

If any body would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
