This is an old mill site with another beautiful waterfall. Please bring a pen to sign the log.
The Clemson forest was once a large wasteland of agricultural land that was destroyed by the loss of topsoil. Numerous farms were bought up by the Federal Government and the area was replanted with trees in the early part of the 1900's to regenerate the land. Wow did this experiment work! This cache will take you back in time to an old grist mill site near a beautiful waterfall. The area has tons of trails so it can be confusing to find. Google GCMBC for a trail map and follow the coordinates. PLEASE BRING A PEN TO SIGN LOG. See hint for easy find. The cache is NOT near or in the remains of the mill nor is it in the waterfall. Please be careful with this sensitive natural and historic area.
