Geocache Description:

This is the 2nd in our series of Civil War caches. Annie Carter Lee was 23 at the start of the war that left her family homeless and her father a hero. In June 1862, Annie and her mother Agnes were sent to the popular White Sulpher Springs for safety. Several months later, Annie died of Typhoid Fever and was buried in nearby Jones Family Cemetery.General Lee visited her grave in 1870.
In 1994, Lee family memebers requested that Annie's remains be brought back to Virginia to be reunited with her family. The granit obelisk created in her honor remains behind.
There is a compass for the First to Find. If you already have one, please leave it for the next cacher. There is also swag donated from where I work. The cache is NOT located inside the cemetery.
