Susanoo Shinto shrine
Here is created in Enreki 14(795) age of the Heian era, and is a Shinto shrine of the history in the village shrine who has the widest parishioner district in the district based on the stone god belief that worships the stone as a god.
It is called, "King heaven" in local and is familiar.
[**koyomi] 14(795) age and rocks of fantastic shape shoot slight light, [**] male life of the source ([no] drinking source [**] magnificent ..deterioration.. gods) and the thing fee lord's commands (Only [shi] is an Asuka ..pulling out.. wolf of the furnace this year) of the light appear, there is a legend of having reported trusting, and to enshrine the shining stone, [**] male Shinto shrine of the source is said creation. Two gods are enshrined to precincts as [matsukami] as for the stone that is called "Zuiko Corporation (pistil long ages) stone" now.
Moreover, it is famous because there is a monument of Matsuo Basho's "The Narrow Road to the Deep North" travel standing. This monument is the one that the first one theory and [bashousuwazou] of 1000 [suya] [ta] of "The Narrow Road to the Deep North" were carved, and the one that recalled [**] sage and was built from the age of Genroku era 2(1689) when Basho started on a journey in Basho after about 130 years by men of culture around 1000 livings.

素盞雄神社（すさのおじんじゃ）
ここは平安時代延暦14（795）年に創建され、区内で最も広い氏子区域を持つ鎮守で、石を神として崇拝する石神信仰に基づく縁起の神社です。
地元では「天王様」とも呼ばれ親しまれています。
延暦14（795）年、奇岩が微妙な光を放ち、その光のうちに素盞雄命（すさのおのみこと・素盞雄大神）と事代主命（ことしろぬ しのみこと・飛鳥大神）が現れて信託を告げたとの伝説があり、その光る石を祀るために、素盞雄神社が創建されたと言われています。「瑞光（ずいこう）石」と呼ばれるその石は、二神を祭神として現在も境内に祀られています。
また、松尾芭蕉の「奥の細道」旅立ちの記念碑があることでも有名です。この記念碑は「奥の細道」の千住矢立の初めの一説と芭蕉坐像が刻まれたもので、芭蕉が旅立った元禄2（1689）年からおよそ130年後の芭蕉忌に、俳聖を偲んで千住周辺の文化人たちによって建立されたものです。
