Geocache Description:

This hop around the rocks at Omaha is a rather lengthy but seldom taken walk. It gives you a great view of Omaha and down to Tawharanui.

This is a cache is part of a series of caches I'm working on that highlight New Zealand's beautiful coasts and encourage people to clean them up. Please read more here, I'm looking for help!

The terrain is easy to navigate at low tide. Kids should find this a fun walk with lots of rock pools with neat critters in them. It's also possible to kayak out to the point and pull up onto the rocks to get the cache.

There is great snorkeling off the point if it's a clear day. Other highlights include the pink beach, just around the first set of rocks and the interesting rock formations along the way.

High tide makes it much more of a challenge to get around but is preferable if you are snorkeling.

This is designed to be an easy find cache with the emphasis on the location. I made the cache sizable so it can hold plenty of goodies! Log and pencil are also available inside.

There is a handy car park down the southern end of Omaha with a playground for the kids, see additional waypoints.

Unlike other caches I'm requesting that you bring a bag along and pick up some rubbish if you see it. This beautiful area is very tidal so rubbish is sometimes found on parts of the walk. Let's help keep it clean for all its marine inhabitants!

Update: I practice what I preach, here's my haul from the last maintenance I did just after the new year's storms.
