Reaching the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America requires years of dedication and hard work. In addition to 21 required merit badges, each Scout must complete a project that – on average – requires 167 service hours. In 2008 alone, that translated to $16 million in service (based on the national volunteer hour value of $19.51/hr).
This cache is part of a nationwide geocaching series called “Cache to Eagle” that showcases these special contributions. A Boy Scout can find three of these "Cache to Eagle" caches to satisfy requirement 8(a) for the new Geocaching Merit Badge.
The photo highlights one of three Eagle projects by Troop 509 (Samammish, WA) The bat houses are found in the SE corner of the park. Other projects include fencing to protect a wetlands and an installation of an orienteering course.
Explore the park’s grounds for many points of interest. The 42-foot Eagle and 30-foot Beaver Lake Myth totem poles were carved in 1991 by Alaska Tsimshian artist David Boxley and Snoqualmie Tribe artist, David Horsley. See the Northwest Coast Native art storyboards in the picnic pavilion.The westside of the park has ballfields and a dog park. Many trails wind through the forest in the middle of the park.

You can earn the Cache to Eagle patch by finding all 12 Chief Seattle Council's “Cache to Eagle” geocaches. In each Cache to Eagle cache is a point of the Scout Law. When you find all twelve caches, email the list of cache numbers and points of the Scout Law (e.g. Cache #1, Friendly, Cache #2, Reverent, etc.), to CSC Geocaching and you will receive Cache to Eagle patch.
