Ciao collega geocacher,

Dopo oltre due mesi dalla mia nota, non ho ricevuto alcuna risposta nè visto alcuna modifica.
Se non lo hai ancora fatto, per favore raccogli ogni eventuale resto della cache al più presto possibile. Se hai intenzione di intervenire sul cache, una volta completata l'operazione per favore lasciatemi un messaggio con il numero waypoint GC relativo alla cache. Sarò più che lieto di verificare nuovamente la cache per verificare la sua conformità con le linee guida.

Grazie per l'attenzione e per ogni ulteriore informazione ti prego di non esitare a contattarmi o attraverso il message center oppure inserendo un log in questo cache.

After more than two months from my last note I didn't receive any answer and no action has been done.
If you haven't done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible. If you are going to fix the problems connected to this cache, once it is ready please drop me a note and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache. I will be more than happy to take a look at your cache again to see if it is still is within the guidelines of the Geocaching.com website for cache placement and posting.

Ha la qualifica di "Nobile": per la prova offerta dalle sue Compagnie Militari a Montaperti che per prime attaccarono battaglia; per aver portato l'acqua nel settore della città dove ha giurisdizione, innalzando la fonte dei Pispini nel 1534; per aver mantenuto a proprie spese, per sei mesi, l'esercito della Repubblica e per aver respinto l'attacco dei "Noveschi" che, aiutati dai fiorentini, tentavano di rientrare in città assaltando Porta Pispini (1527). In tale occasione si accostò alla porta, battendovi la spada in segno di sfida, Francesco Trecerchi.

Tanta era la disciplina e il marziale aspetto dei suoi uomini che fu anche distinta con il nome "La Floridissima".

Ha la sede in via dei Pispini. Patrono è San Gaetano da Thiene, al quale dedicò la Chiesa costruendola a proprie spese nel 1682. Anteriormente i contradaioli tenevano le loro adunanze nella Chiesetta di San Giovanni Battista e, quindi, nella Cappella della Compagnia di Santo Stefano.

La ragione del nome ha diverse ipotesi fra le quali quella delle numerosissime conchiglie marine rinvenute nel suo territorio che, nel periodo pliocenico, era invaso dal mare e quella di un palese riferimento alla valle che, cominciando da San Francesco, viene ad essere chiusa, dall'altra parte, da Santo Spirito e Santa Chiara.

La Società è popolarmente conosciuta come "La Pania", attribuendole il potere di "impaniare" (cioè far rimanere incollati) coloro che la frequentano e che, per ragioni affettive e gastronomiche, non se ne possono più staccare.

It has the appellation "nobile" (noble) because its military companies opened battle at Montaperti, because its people brought water to the Contrada territory (they erected the Pispini fountain in 1534), because they maintained the army of the Republic for six months at their own expense and finally because they held back the "Noveschi" attack who, with the help of the Florentines, tried to enter the city by storming Porta Pispini (one of the gateways of the city) in 1527. On this occasion Francesco Terchi stood at the gateway and beat his sword against it as a sign of challenge. The discipline and military appearance was such that it was distinguished with the name of "La Floridissima" (literally the very florid).

Its Seat is in via dei Pispini. The Patron Saint is San Gaetano of Thiene to whom the Contrada dedicated its Church which it built at its own expense in 1682. Previously the people of the Contrada met in the Church of Saint John the Baptist and then in the Cappella della Compagnia di Santo Stefano.

There are several hypotheses on the origin of the name of the Contrada, one of which is the numerous amount of sea-shells found on its territory which in the Pliocene Age was covered by the sea. Another hypothesis is the evident reference to the valley which is closed in at one end by San Francesco and at the other end by Santo Spirito and Santa Chiara.

The "Società" is called "La Pania" (the trap), attributing to it the power of "liming" - that is making those who visit it "stick" and who for sentimental and gastronomic reasons are not able to break away.
