Geocache Description:

Warning: This Park is serious about closing times. Please read the signs! If you get locked in, call the police.

Adjacent to the Henricus historic site, are walking and bike paths that are free to explore. This “Lost Shaker of Salt" cache is hidden along these paths where history, nature and wildlife are abundant. A crisp new $2.00 bill has been placed for the first to find.

This ammo can was once used as part of "The Eye of Horus Adventure" geocache and was placed in Lurus Park. The story had to due with the Omniam Masonic Rite, whose motto translates to "There is Salt Among Us", hence the empty salt container as a clue. When someone would find this cache, all they would find was an empty salt container which was the clue to the next cache. If you took the atomic weights of sodium (22.989) and chloride (35.453), added N37 and W77 in front of them, it would lead you to the next cache, which was in a swamp located in Pocohontas State Park. This story inspired the naming of our cache. Thanks to Walden Pond, the previous owner of this ammo can, for the history lesson and the container.
