Geocache Description:

An easy basic cache on an early Pit-Comb Ware Culture dwelling site.

Storskogen Stone-Age dwelling site

Pit–Comb Ware culture dwelling site of Storskogen is located in Jalavapuisto park in Koivukylä, Vantaa. During the Stone-Age there was a narrow peninsula stretching southward. The dwelling site was located on the eastern shore of the peninsula.

The dwelling site was discovered in 1933 and it was registered as a protected relic site in 1936. Over 70 pieces of pottery have been found here, and the most representative fragments have been put on display in the city museum.


Storskogenin kivikautinen asuinpaikka

Storskogenin varhaiskampakeraaminen asuinpaikka sijaitsee Jalavapuistossa Vantaan Koivukylässä. Kivikaudella paikalla on ollut etelään pistävä niemi, jonka itärinteellä asuinpaikka oli.

Storskogenin asuinpaikka löydettiin 1933 ja muinaisjäännökseksi se kirjattiin 12.5.1936. Paikalta on löydetty yli 70 saviastian palasta, joista edustavimmat ovat esillä kaupunginmuseon esihistorian perusnäyttelyssä.

2008 inventoinnissa paikalta ei enää löydetty mitään muinaisjäännökseen viittaavaa.
