How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

Located in Abergavennys Linda Vista Gardens, the cache site is easily accessed from the garden entrance in Byfield Lane carpark (Free except on Tuesdays). The cache is a micro in the form of a keysafe containing logbook only - you will need a pen or pencil - . Terrain is easy and the walk short (good cache and dash), but paths may be too narrow for wheelchairs or pushchairs.
The gardens only open in the daytime between 7am and 6pm (later in the summer). DOGS MUST BE KEPT ON A LEAD.

Linda Vista Gardens opened to the public in 1843, and the name literal means "Beautiful View". The gardens themselves are indeed beautiful and contain some extremely rare orchids and shrubs - definitely worth taking the time to have a wander around this peaceful area but please stay on the paths or lawns to avoid damaging the beautiful flora. There are also lovely views out across Castle Meadows towards the Blorenge mountain. Castle Meadows themselves also offer a pleasant walk on the banks of the River Usk where dogs can run free (Abergavennys designated dog walking area!). The Meadows are also used as a landing area for hang gliders and paragliders, with a constant stream floating down off the Blorenge in suitable conditions.

The legal bit..... Monmouthshire County Council accept not responsibility for loss, damage, or injury associated with the activity of geocaching. THE CACHE DOES NOT REQUIRE ANYTHING TO BE MOVED/DISTURBED

PS: On your visit to Abergavenny, keep your eyes open for a four legged geocoin - for more information look at Traka-Staffy-Bulldog-Cross (TB3K3AJ)!
