This small cache (clip box) is located in the area where Whetstone Station and railway used to be. You can park on Station Street, Whetstone for a quick cache and dash. If possible please rehide well, this can be a busy footpath.
On the right of Station Street is Whetstone Way which is the old railway embankment - a railway bridge used to span Station Street at the start of this footpath. Whetstone Station and the goods yard would have been directly to the South of here. The Old Station masters house still exists on the left.
The station (open from 1899 to 1963) was on the Great Central Railway, the last main line to be constructed from the north of England to London.
