A member of StuartOX17's Dashing Cache Series. This is a road side micro which may take a little hunting. This can be a busy road - so please take care during the daytime. Best to leave the mini geocachers in the car for this one.
We have been around this area for many years now. It is our “Home Ground” in every way. When we first came here we spent may hours exploring the area. We particularly enjoyed this area. The walks along the edge hill escarpment offer superb views over the Midlands. When we got to know a little of the history of the area we found that this was the view over the site of the battle of Edge Hill which took place in the English Civil War. It was the first major battle of the civil war. There are many links to the battle round here.

There is an information board in the grounds of The Castle Inn just down the road in Edge Hill village telling the story of the battle.
There is more Battle related folklore to be found in the nearby village of Ratley where the 900 year old pub is said to be haunted by a Roundhead from the Battle of Edge Hill.
We hope you enjoy exploring this little area of the Warwickshire countryside and that you have the time to share in the hospitality of the local businesses.
More importantly though we hope that you will be able find our little Geocache. This is a true member of the “Dashing Cache” family – we are sure you will recognise the similarities. This is one of our small caches with only room for a folded paper log sheet and a pencil.
