With lots of containers left over from last summers caching event, what better way to re-cycle them, than to put out a "power-trail" ?
Timberland is a very large area in Guilford consisting of 582 acres of forest stretching from the Upper Guilford Lake north to Route 80. With over 15 miles of marked trail, Timberlands is part of a continuos corridor of forested land extending into North Guilford and North Madison. This "greenway" includes a diverse range of wildlife habitat for animals such as deer, pheasant. turkey, various migratory songbirds and coyote.
If you follow the caches in numeric order, you will get a good hike and get to see some very unique features. By the time you have picked up the last cache and are a bit tired, you'll have a fairly easy hike back.
You can print out a map (recommended) of Timberlands here : http://www.guilfordconservation.org/maps.htm
There's parking for two cars at the trail head on Maupas Road almost right across from the tennis courts at Guilford Lakes School.
On the weekend you can park at the parking lot by the tennis court at Guilford Lakes School.
All hides are fairly easy and not too far off the trail.
