Stanica Trstena / The Trstena Train Station

SK: prevadzka tejto stanice zacala 21.12.1899, ked bol spojazdneny posledny usek trate 181: Kralovany - Dolny Kubin - Trstena - Sucha Hora. Do Polska bola predlzena v roku 1904 (trat Nowy Targ – Podczerwone – Sucha Hora)

EN: this station became operational on 21.12.1899, when the last segment of the track 181: Kralovany - Dolny Kubin - Trstena - Sucha Hora was made. It was extended into Poland in 1904 (track Nowy Targ – Podczerwone – Sucha Hora)
After the end of World War 2 the international transportation on the track Trstena - Novy Targ wasn't restored. The personal transportation was stopped since 23.5.1971, cargo since 15.10.1971, the official cancellation is dated since 1.1.1975. The Trstena train station then became the last station on this track.
The station has been reconstructed and prepared for realization of the project, in which trucks are transported by trains. Unfortunately, this project was cancelled.
There is still the old train weighting machine on the station - no electronics, only the true iron.
