This is a lovely spot along the Walnut Trail #251 any time of the year, but especially in the fall when nature’s extravagance transforms cool-green maples into red-hot reds. The narrow canyon where this cache is located plays havoc with the coords. Please be patient. So, here's an extra clue --- the cache is between the trail and the creek. Also note alternate coordinates below. If you still can’t find it, the encrypted hint and spoiler photos should do the trick.
This cache can be accessed via the Oak Springs Trail #16 at the Pine Trailhead or the Walnut Trail #251 at the Hardscrabble Trailhead. Parking is limited at the Hardscrabble TH. See waypoints below for parking coords.
Update June 2020: The Walnut Trail is not maintained. In spots it's easy to miss the trail. Watch carefully for rock cairns marking the trail.
For a quick reference to other nearby caches, see the Bookmark List “Oak Springs and Walnut Trail Caches.” Also see the Bookmark List “Arizona Trail” by Greasepot for even more caches along the AZ Trail. Enjoy the trek!
