Geocache Description:

The outdoor chapel near this cache was an Eagle project by a scout in Troop 520 which is chartered by Redmond Presbyterian Church. The cache is on the Church grounds and they request that geocachers avoid cache hunting during services on Sundays, 8:30am-1pm since the cache is located near the sanctuary windows.

This is the 9th Geocache in a series called “Cache to Eagle” which highlights Eagle Service Projects by the Boy Scouts of the Chief Seattle Council. This cache is in the Sammamish Trails district.

Reaching the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America requires years of dedication and hard work. In addition to 21 required merit badges, each Scout must complete a project that – on average – requires 167 service hours. In 2008 alone, that translated to $16 million in service (based on national volunteer hour value of $19.51/hr).

This cache is part of a nationwide geocaching series called “Cache to Eagle” that showcases these special contributions. A Boy Scout can find three of these "Cache to Eagle" caches to satisfy requirement 8(a) for the new Geocaching Merit Badge.
