The Hillsdale Jail,is one of Ontario's smallest known jailhouses, measuring just 20 feet by 28 feet.
It was constructed by local Hillsdale builder William John Davenport in 1906. For many years, the lock-up was used for its intended purposes, to administer justice and temporarily confine lawbreakers, and it even served as a courthouse.
Please avoid walking onto the furthest (South) side of this historic building as this is private property. The cache is close to the road side.
