This family friendly geocaching event will be held at the
pavilion of Bob Woodruff Park South, starting at 3
p.m. and going until around 5 p.m. There are several caches
located in this park and Bob Woodruff Park North (a paved trail
away) that you might want to grab after we eat, play, and
converse.
The picnic will be potluck so please bring a food
item to share and log in your attendance with your item so we know
what assortment we will have on the menu. Also, don't forget to
bring your own non-alcoholic beverage as well.
Tanner, Dog Scout, is planning on hiding several scavenger hunt
caches near the picnic area as one of the games. Coordinates will
be available at 3:15 p.m. as well as other game information.
If you'd like to see all the requirements needed for Tanner, Dog
Scout, to earn this Level III badge, click on the related web page
link above. These are his final two requirements - hosting this
event and creating a collection cache.
For the "collection cache" we will be gathering swag items to be
placed in a cache to be hidden at a later date. If you have an item
you'd like to place in this collection cache - please bring it with
you. If you bring a signature item - we will place it in a
special bag with instructions for no other person to remove it from
this collection cache, You can then do a little reverse trading and
"collect" your item when "Tanner's DSA Collection Cache" is
published in the future.
Besides stories to swap, please feel free to bring items to
trade, track, or be discovered as well.
If you are bringing a geo dog - (a dog who has their own geocaching.com account or has
accompanied you for most of your finds) - Plano park
rules state they must be on leash, no longer than 6 feet. Please
remember, Tanner, Dog Scout, loves children, but is reactive to
other dogs... so please remember to give him a lot of space
so he doesn't get stressed out at his own event. Thank you.
