On May 3, 2000 Dave Ulmer placed the very first geocache, The Original Stash, a black bucket, in the woods near Beaver Creek, Oregon. Along with a logbook and pencil, he left various prize items including videos, books, software, a can of beans and a slingshot. He shared the waypoint of his "stash" with the online community on sci.geo.satellite-nav, and Geocaching was born.
Come join us on May 2rd 2010 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Geocaching.
Please post a "will attend" log along with how many in your party to make securing enough seats easier. And dont forget to watch this listing to keep up to date with whats going on in case things change for some reason. Thank You.

We have changed our event name to fit guide lines set by Groundspeak. If we have at least 10 people attend and can get a picture of all of us partying it up with a banner with the coords and event name on it we will get a special icon. So be prepaired to have a goodtime and get your picture taken. What happens here stays here.. LOL

UPDATES: To let everyone know what's going on with our event..
There are a number of caches that are being released this weekend in honor of our event. Be sure to run a fresh query and set alerts up for Banning and the surrounding area so you don't miss any of the new ones and so you have a chance at some of the many new FTFs that are out there.
Also, be sure to bring your TBs and coins to the event so that we can do some discovering and swapping.
As you may have noticed we have received our 10th Anniversary icon from groudspeak! YAY!
We are currently working on our anniversary banner and will provide a birthday cake and "swag" bags & etc for the celebration.
Reminder: You can still attend if you chose not to eat, however, if you do Tortilla's is reasonably priced, does offer a number of combo specials & kids meals.They also normally have coupons in the local circulars .
Can't wait to see you there!
