Geocache Description:

Is a hunter buried here? Well, this IS Perry County, so I'm sure that MOST of the people buried here hunted at some point in their life.

But the word "Nimrod", when used in a general way, has been used to refer to hunter. Nimrod was actually a Biblical person & little is known or mentioned about him. However, he was described as "a great hunter", thus how we wound up with the meaning attached to the word.

You'll not find a Nimrod family here, only a Nimrod Cemetary in the community of Nimrod, near Lake Nimrod on the....huummm...."Fourche La Fave" river. Well, at least the majority of them agree with each other.

Nearby is an old church which I'm 99.4% sure was once an old school. Anyone who has found more than 2 of my caches knows by now that I'm a history-junkie. But the material that I have available only covers Yell & Scott counties, plus parts of Logan, Pope, & Montgomery. I'll try to dig up a bit of history on this building & if I find enough to justify it, I'll either post it here or change the cache to a Lock-N-Lock & place it in there.

There will also most likely be another cache up on the hiway, a short distance away, about another similarly dilapidated structure. I have a bit of info about it already, but just waiting on a POC for the building. If you drive by here & look at the side of the road, I bet you'll figure out where I'm talking about. (HINT: It use to be a store. :) :) )

Baby Coke Bottle in a typical cemetary fashion. No need to go around the graves, unless you just want to. If you do, please be respectful. If peoples are at the nearby buildings (only occasionally), come back later. You'll see what I'm talking about when you get there.

P.S. I generally do not reccomend that my cemetary caches be searched for at night, since it's not something I personally do. But the location of this one makes that possible, especially if you are quick & quiet, so I've included the 24/7 attribute. All I'm saying.

Mike-Ski gets the FTF .... I think his 1st FTF on any of my caches .... at least I think so.
