Altitude Sickness II - Lofty Goals Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

chevyjim: As the adopted owner i can not delete logs. The only activity this cache gets is fake logs that don't count. I stopped caching years ago and asked for ppl to adopt the good one's. No one has adopted this that also has the gear to do the maintenance. So it is time to archive this one since no one in the area has the gear.

Geocache Description:

Altitude sickness, also known as acute mountain sickness (AMS), altitude illness, hypobaropathy, or soroche, is a pathological effect of high altitude on humans, caused by acute exposure to low partial pressure of oxygen at high altitude. It commonly occurs above 2,400 meters (approximately 8,000 feet).
Acute mountain sickness can progress to high altitude pulmonary
edema (HAPE) or high altitude cerebral edema (HACE).
While highly unlikely you will suffer from altitude sickness during the retrieval of this cache, you may experience exhaustion, depression, anxiety, fear, nervousness, frustration, disappointment, frostbite, hypothermia, or a whole host of other problems. You have been warned! Now, the part where I ask your cooperation, some guidelines, if you will, in the spirit of this cache.
I would appreciate it if only the persons who have braved the elements, the gear detangling, the rope burn and the suffering involved in retrieving the cache claim a "found" for this cache. Think of it as an excellent opportunity to learn a new skill, a chance to learn an exciting hobby, spend some time with your feet off the ground.
I propose this to be fair to all the geocachers that have tried and failed on difficult caches. Like me.:) Ha ha!

There are no items inside the cache, please do not leave any items either, as the container is not entirely sealed from the elements.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me before you attempt!

Please, please please do not cut the cache from it's loop or attempt to remove it. Plan accordingly, you WILL require some gear to retrieve this cache. DO NOT expect the cache loop to hold your body weight. BE PREPARED. Good Luck.
I realize that this is a very different cache than most people are used to, especially around the Lansing area.
If you are unsure you can get it, or doubt your ability to retrieve it, the place to discuss that, or my methods, is the groundspeak forums. I will delete notes (not found/DNF logs) that are not appropriate. If you do not feel you are up to the challenge, or want to discuss life's uncertainties or the impermanence of our existence, or that of any other living thing, an excellent place to discuss that is the groundspeak forums, or your favorite discussion forums available on the internet.
Feel free, however, to post notes to rally people to help you get going, get up, or get down to this cache. Remember to please keep in mind the spirit of a level 5 cache such as this one. :)
Thank you for understanding.
