Geocache Description:

The coordinates are for the first stages of a 3-stage multicache that is part of the Virginia State Parks Geocaching Wildlife Adventure series. Kiptopeke is located on the Southern Tip of Virginia’s Eastern Shore. The three caches are all located on level terrain and are along established trails. The caches are designed to be enjoyed by all ages. Please note that if you are coming from Virginia Beach you will have to pay a toll to cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel.


The geocaches that you will encounter on this trail will provide you with information on a particular animal or animal group. In addition, each cache has an activity associated with the animal that you just learned about. And lastly, you will find the coordinates and hints to the next cache. Each cache is located in a small clear plastic waterproof box. In the final cache you will be find a wildlife card that is specific to Kiptopeke State Park. These cards are your to keep and can be redeemed for rewards.

 This cache was part of the 2010 Virginia State Parks Geocaching Wildlife Adventure. This series ended on December 15, 2010. However, the park has taken over this cache so it is still active. Rewards are no longer available for this cache, but we will be launching the Virginia State Parks 75th Anniversary Geocaching Adventure in March 2011.
