An der
Ortsausfahrtstraße von Hettstedt in Richtung Oberwiederstedt liegt
rechter Hand das Freibad. Von hier aus führt euch ein Fußweg in
Richtung Osten. Ihr überquert die Wipper, wendet euch nach rechts
und geht bis zur Kreuzung. Hier biegt ihr nach links in die
Talstraße ein. Nachdem ihr die Bahndammunterführung passiert habt,
haltet ihr euch links und nehmt an der Weggabelung den schmalen
Pfad, der euch wiederum nach links führt. Noch einige Meter und ihr
erreicht einen imposanten Aufschluss, den „Grand
Canyon“ von Hettstedt. Hier im Tal der Heiligen Reiser ist
eine schwache Verstellung (Winkeldiskordanz) zwischen ober karbonen
Schiefertonen und Glimmersandsteinen zu den darüber befindlichen
oberrotliegenden Porphyrkonglomeraten der Eisleben-Schichten zu
beobachten. Es handelt sich um eine beträchtliche Zeitlücke, denn
die Hornburg-Schichten fehlen vollständig. Die Saale- Diskordanz
ist eine bedeutende Zeitmarke der variszischen
Gebirgsbildung.
Da diese Stelle
nicht weit von meinem Elternhaus entfernt ist kenne ich die Gegend
sehr gut und möchte sie etwas bekannter machen!
Ich glaube das
diese Ecke noch nicht viele kennen!

macht ein Foto von euch mit der "Felswand" und beantwortet folgende
Fragen anhand der Infotafel vor Ort:
1. In welcher Zeitepoche ist die Diskordanz zwischen
der "Mansfeld Formation" und der "Eisleben Formation" entstanden?

2. Welche Art von Diskordanz findet man am Heiligen
Reiser?
a. Erosionsdiskordanz oder b.
Winkeldiskordanz
3. Auf was geht der Name "Heiliger Reiser" vermutlich
zurück?
Begebt euch dann
zu folgenden Koordinaten: N 51° 39.021 E 011° 31.374
Dort im Gebüsch
versteckt liegen 3 Höhlen,sie sind sicher genauso unbekannt wie der
Rest! Macht dort auch ein Bild von euch und hängt dies und das
erste an den Log mit an! (Euer GPS geht auch)!!!

Die hohe
Terrain-Wertung lege ich dem Zugang zu den Höhlen zu grunde da er
sehr verwachsen ist! Wahlweise kann mann auch etwas
klettern!

At the local
exit road from Hettstedt Oberwiederstedt towards the outdoor pool
is on the right hand. From here a footpath leads you to the east.
You cross the dump, you turn right and go up to the crossing. Here
you turn left into the valley road. Once you've passed the railway

narrow path that leads you to turn left. A few more meters and you
reach an impressive insight, the "Grand Canyon" of Hettstedt. Here
in the Valley of the Saints Reiser weak adjustment
(Winkeldiskordanz) between the Upper Carboniferous shales and
sandstones mica to the overlying conglomerates of Eisleben Oberrot
underlying porphyry-layers can be observed. There is a considerable
time gap since the Hornburg layers are completely missing. The hall
is a major unconformity-time mark of the Variscan orogeny.
Because this place is not far away from my parents house I know the
area very well and they want to make something known!

The high terrain rating I put the access to the caves to reason
since it is very overgrown! Either man can climb anything!
