The modern church of ST. JOHN THE EVANGELIST, LANGRISH, a building
of flint with stone dressings, in the Early English style was built
by the benefactor George Waddington of Langrish House in 1870.
Through subsequent marriage Langrish House has been the family home
of the Talbot-Ponsonby family for five generations.
Limited parking available outside the church on the main
A272.
I recommended entering the church grounds and following
the needle to the cache which lies just outside the church's
boundary, this avoids a nasty encounter with speeding traffic on
the unpaved road.
The cache is a camouflaged Bison. There is no need to remove the
cache container. Just unscrew the bottom to retrieve the log.
PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN WRITING IMPLEMENT.
I have driven past this church so many times and admired it,
and never stopped, today I did …….
I laughed at the brown sign, that if followed by car would
have you taking up permanent residence within the churchyard
.
I was surprised at just how recently the church was built and
wondered whether the skills still exist today to build such a
beautiful building.
I stopped and rested my weary legs, while sitting on one of
the available benches and admired the Snowdrops and knew why I
enjoyed the Church Micro series so much.

If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would
just ask that you could let
Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church
numbers and names to avoid duplication
