Geocache Description:

The dates for this years gathering are a week earlier on 13/14/15 August. We have been able to bring the event forward so that it falls on the last weekend of the Scottish school holidays.

As previously, Scott Lodge will be available from evening on Fri 13th until around noon on Sun 15th, with the main event being the Saturday night BBQ (details to follow)

LOCATION
Situated in the Angus Glens, the Glen Clova/Glen Doll area lies on the edge of Cairngorm National Park. Around 15 miles from the nearest shops and 10 miles from a low level mobile signal (you MAY get a signal up a hill…), Scott Lodge lies in the shadow of the Munro Driesh. There are plenty of caches on the doorstep of Scott Lodge suitable for all. Gentle forest walks following the White Water and the River South Esk or for the more energetic high level hillwalks following ancient drove roads which will take you to some of the most spectacular scenery seen in Scotland. There are also caches on the way into the glens and in and around some of the pretty towns and villages you pass through on the way.
Scott Lodge is a 30/40minute drive through spectacular scenery from the A90 Dundee to Aberdeen road.

SCOTT LODGE
Scott Lodge is a purpose built outdoor centre built by the Boys Brigade. Situated in 2000 square metres of private ground on the east bank of the River South Esk just downstream of the car park and ranger station at the head of the glen
In recent years it has been refurbished to a high standard with a well equipped kitchen, showers, drying room etc. The lodge is suitable for disabled persons with ramps/disabled toilet/shower etc.
Sleeping accommodation is in a dormitory with 24 beds (you will need sleeping bags and pillows). We have permission for camping on the small area behind the building.
Due to costs of the lodge and utilities, there is a small charge to stay. There will be a nominal charge of £6 per bed in the bunkhouse (or £6 per tent) for the whole weekend. This should cover all costs with any extra being put towards the BBQ.
