Founded in 1944, this Roman Catholic monastery is a local landmark and has been home to Trappist monks who live, work and pray at the Abbey. The Monastery's 2,000 acres is home to a retreat house, the Abbey Store, a bonsai garden, a conservation burial ground, concerts, and many other attractions.
You are looking for an ammo can located near a peaceful area next to the Monastery Lakes. Enjoy the view and a chance to feed the ducks.
After finding the cache, feel free to explore the PATH trail. The Rockdale River Trail connects to the South River Trail and the Arabia Mountain Trail. These trails wind through the beautiful communities and natural settings that are now protected by the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area. The winding and sometimes hilly trails are perfect for hiking and biking. The landmark near the GZ is interesting as it points out a mile marker in the PATH history.

This nature preserve, like other Georgia woodlands, has ticks during all but the winter season. Take precautions that include wearing a hat, a long sleeve shirt, and long pants with legs tucked into socks. Wear light colored clothing for ease of spotting ticks, especially deer ticks that are the size of a pin head. Use bug spray with the chemical DEET and especially spray around the ankle area.
