To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of Geocaching, we are
setting up a guided walk (by way of 10 new Geocaches) near Pitsford
Reservoir in the surrounding countryside. The walk will finish at
The
Royal Oak pub in the village of Walgrave, which is just north of Northampton
and Pitsford Reservoir. We have the private
function room booked in the pub from midday through until closing
time. The pub also has a garden, plenty of parking and a kids play
area outside. The menu is available on their website, however they may
struggle if everyone attending plans on eating in the evening, as
it is a Bank Holiday Weekend. See the event Lat/Long for the exact
location of the Pub.
We plan to get a photo of everyone at the event (at about 6pm)
for the Geocaching Gallery, so if you'd like to be included in the
themed photo, please come dressed in one of the colours of the
Geocaching logo (yellow, green, blue or orange).
In the morning, we are holding a CITO event. See here for more details
There are a number of existing cache around Pitsford and some in
Walgrave itself. However on the day of the event we will be
publishing 10 different types of geocaches for the 10 years of
Geocaching.
Here are links to TAGs 10 caches (they will go live on the
day):
GC26RVA, GC26RVB, GC26RVC, GC26RVD, GC26RVE, GC26RVF, GC26RVG, GC26RVH, GC26RVK, GC26RVM
At about 7pm we will be holding a pub quiz for those who have
stayed on for evening grub and/or drinks
More details to follow, so please remember to add this event to
your watch list and log your attendance so we can warn the pub how
many to expect on the day. We look forward to meeting many cachers,
from near and far on the day. See you all then!
