Opening in 1949, the Parsons Theatre stood on Parsons Boulevard
in the Flushing section of Queens. At one time it was an Interboro
Chain Theatre.
When Loews bought the chain, they acquired it and eventually
twinned the theater. The old Parsons Theatre closed in the
late-1980's and was razed to make way for townhouses, which now
stand on the site.
The movie theatre was located across the street from the
cache.
In addition on the block of the Cache was a drug rehab called
Aurora Concept. This is gone also.
For many, many years Buddy's Schwin was the bicycle shop for the
neighborhood. After 40 years the bicycle shop closed down this
year.
