This is a pretty natural area that we found. We thought others would enjoy this place too. Closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. Hours are 9-5.
There is no admission charge for the natural area, but the nature center charges $1.00 per person. (It is worth it)

Habitat: A magnificent live oak and tropical hardwood hammock
occupies the high, well-drained ridge within the property. Surrounding this
ridge are created wetlands and various successional stages of drained
Everglades.
Vegetation: Live oak, redbay, paradise tree, satin leaf, and hackberry.
Wetlands water lily, rushes, alligator flag, pickerel weed, duck potato,
leather fern, and prairie iris.
Wildlife: Pileated woodpecker, great horned owl, screech owl, osprey,
great egret, herons, malachite, and queen and zebra longwing butterflies.
Amenities: Nature center, equestrian trail, concrete trail, boardwalk,
outdoor seating, and interpretive signage.
