This cache is the regular location for Boy Scout Troop 140 meetings. Its sponsor is 4th and Elm Church of Christ. A fairly easy park and grab except on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings.
The Boy Scouts of America have finally gotten into Geocaching. This was the centennial year in Scouting and one of the newest activities added. Our Troop decided to put out our own geocache. BSA has added the Geocaching merit badge to the list of merit badge awards for Boy Scouts. This is an ammo can with some scout goodys. More items will be added regularly. Troop 140 is one of the oldest Boy Scout Troops in West Texas that has been in continuous existance for over 75 yrs. Boy Scouts is a world wide organization that teaches boys moral and ethical tenants . Geocaching merit badge requirements are located in the cache box. Please only Boy Scouts take the requirement sheets. Across the street by the playground is an example of a Boy Scout Eagle Service project. The covered awning is a project that one local young man did for his Eagle project. It benefitted a non profit organization (church), and employed supervising, planning, and executing the project while learning leadership skills in the process. These skills are what a young man can use in his many life skills. This cache is 3rd of several Cache to Eagle caches that will be added in the surrounding area.
