My second ode to Mr. Godwin cache - another spot he introduced me to.
I went back to this cache after a long absence and it was right where I'd left it. Dry log and all. I did switch containers so this one gets a little easier. Terrain stays the same.
The pond this cache is near was called "signboard pond" by the old timers. There used to be some type of sign where you turned on the trail to get to it. This one will require a full-size 2wd or better. You have two trail choices to get in. One is sandy the other is muddy, you pick. Once you get close, use the parking point given. It looks like a fairly well-traveled trail and you don't want to block it. It's a short walk to the cache but there is no trail at all. The cache is a couple of feet off the ground to avoid flooding. Take that as a cue that your feet may get wet. These are fine flatwoods after all.
