This cache is located in the Capitol Area Council, Colorado River District
This cache has been placed as part of the Boy Scouts of America “Get in the Game” activities. Caching to Eagle is just one of the Geocaching activities that BSA has developed to help celebrate its 100th Anniversary.
Reaching the rank of Eagle Scout requires years of dedication and hard work. In addition to 21 required merit badges, each Scout must complete an extensive service project that he plans, organizes, leads, and manages. On average, each Scout conducts 167 service hours as part of that project.
Caching to Eagle is designed to showcase these Eagle Scout service project sites.
For his Eagle Project, a Scout from Troop 187 decided to construct a primitive camping area for Bastrop County and the Cedar Creek Parks Association. The project consisted of organizing a group to clear an area and build a fire pit and rustic benches in the area.
The cache is located within the boundaries of the primitive camping area.
