Geocache Description:

Many thanks to Dair Mor, who placed this cache, and many others throughout Perthshire in 2010.

Faskally Wood has some very interesting trees and small plantations as it was the Forestry Commission’s training ground for many years. It is now a delightful spot, criss-crossed with paths and tracks.

This series makes much of the many interesting rock formations and outcrops throughout the woods and is intended to take you away from the busier sections.

Possibly part of Wade’s Great North Road from Dunkeld to Inverness that still survives in places, although mostly built over by (what’s since become the old) A9. Some of the bridges of this and the Second Road North from Crieff are part of a Lottery funded conservation project being undertaken by Perth & Kinross Heritage Trust - www.pkht.org.uk . But not this little, forgotten gem.
