Geocache Description:

The gang rides again!

Outlaw Jesse James, born 05 September 1847, died 03 April 1882. Jesse James and his band of outlaws roamed the Midwest robbing banks and trains for their plunder. Jesse is known to have ties to the Kentucky and southern Indiana areas.

According to local folklore, one of Jesse James hideouts were in these southern Indiana hills. However, be warned that this story cannot be substantiated. Heck, my grandfather even told us kids that we had relatives that ran around with the James gang. But then again we all know how grandfathers like to tease their grand children.

To get to this cache you will be driving on some of Martin County Indiana's finest single lane gravel roads. If it has been raining, well … you've been duly warned. If you seek this cache at any time other than the fall foliage season it will be worth a return trip in the fall just to witness the grand colors within the hills of southern Indiana. Driver beware, Jesse says that the shortest route to the hideout is not always the best route.

This cache is located near Lloyd cemetery. I even have some distant relatives buried in this cemetery (perhaps my grandfather wasn't teasing after all). You don't need to move any tombstones as the cache is not hidden near any grave markers. Please be respectful and no night time caching – you might be mistaken for the ghost of Jesse James by the locals.

You are looking for a 5-inch long camouflaged spice bottle with screw on cap. I included a few trinkets for trade and a special invitation for the first person to find this cache. Please ensure that the lid is screwed on tight before returning the bottle to its “resting place”.

Congratulations to 'The Smith Boys' for their FTF. You're welcome!
