The pond was constructed by Dad and my Uncle to irrigate
Dad’s fields when we had the property. Dad had apple
orchards, watermelons, and other crops which we would sell at Peach
Days in Hurricane and surrounding communities to make our living.
Mom and Dad raised me, my brother, and two sisters on this land.
But, the pond was more than just irrigation reservoir. It was a
place for folks from as far away as Cedar City could come and swim
and have picnics. I learn to swim in this pond. I have many fond
memories of Mom and Dad at Mountain Dell and Delmar’s
Pond.
Congratulations to kcorne1 for
